Who controls the news media often depends on which country the news is coming from. For instance in the United States of America there is more freedom to report so a majority of control is given to the press. However there are some countries where the government will have total control so that it's citizens will only get to hear what they want them to.

Even though there is such a thing as freedom of the press or free media, the media still have some limitations and rules to follow before they could broadcast the latest news and current events.

This is to ensure that they would not deliver biased news and news that can be watched by the whole family without creating a bad example or model to the minors.
