History of News Media a Brief Outline
History of news media is a vast topic spanning many centuries from the time of Julius Caesar right through to the modern day. Other than food, shelter and clothing, the media is also an essential part of one's life. There are a lot of people who can't start their day without being exposed to any form of media including newspapers, televisions, radios, and even the internet.

But what made the media as it is today?

Centuries ago, people did not get news and media the way the 20th century does. They used to write everything manually, thus the reproduction of materials made it very hard for them and so does the distribution. It was only during the 1400's that the earliest printing presses were introduced, thanks to Johannes Gutenberg. However, the press still can't cover the latest news even until the advancement of the printing press in 1600's. Most of the news was still passed from one mouth to another. Announcements were still made after the courier delivered the papers.
